Wow. Was I ever impressed to read about 8-year old Samantha Sperrazza who invented Kandy bandZ, a very cool plastic bracelet filled with candy. She won a 2013 Invention Convention Sponsorship for her idea, and not only is selling her products in Danbury, Connecticut area stores (including Wheels convenience stores), but has a patent pending on the product. Read more about Samantha and her new product.
As entrepreneurs, we should be encouraging young people to reach for their dreams and goals; self-employed individuals operate 3/4 of all U.S. businesses. I think Samantha’s secret was that she took what she loved and combined it with her interests – it’s always easier to be successful when you have passion for your product, service or idea.
